WKU Men’s Basketball will now officially be without their second-leading scorer for the rest of the 2024-2025 season.
Senior forward Babacar Faye, who injured his right knee against Murray State on Dec. 14, will not play the rest of the season and has applied for a medical redshirt, Head Coach Hank Plona said in his Tuesday presser.
Faye played 10 games for the Hilltoppers this season. In those games, he averaged 15.2 points and 7.8 rebounds.
According to Plona, freshman guard Julius Thedford, who dislocated his kneecap against MTSU earlier this year, is doubtful to play the rest of the season. Before his injury, Thedford averaged 12.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game
Khristian Lander, who suffered a back injury at home against MTSU and missed Saturday’s win against Louisiana Tech, will be traveling with the team and is expected to play against UTEP.
Senior guard Enoch Kalambay missed WKU’s game against LA Tech and will not be traveling with the team for their road stand Plona said.
“He (Kalambay) is still part of the team,” Plona said. “We are working on a plan to get him just kind of back in the right, you know, physical and mental spot.”
