After a historic season, WKU Baseball is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.
The Hilltoppers earned the No. 3 seed in the Oxford Regional, hosted by No. 10 national seed Ole Miss. The regional will run from Friday, May 30, to Monday, June 2.
Joining WKU and Ole Miss in a double-elimination tournament are No. 2 seed Georgia Tech and No. 4 seed Murray State. WKU will be making its fifth appearance at the NCAA Regionals. In 2009, the Hilltoppers lost to No. 8 Ole Miss in the regional championship, 4-1.
The Hilltoppers enter the postseason riding the momentum of a breakout 2025 campaign. WKU finished second in the Conference USA regular season standings and stormed through the CUSA Tournament with three walk-off wins, including a thrilling walk-off victory over Jacksonville State in the championship game.
Senior right fielder Ethan Lizama was named Russell D. Anderson CUSA Tournament Most Valuable Player after the final game. The Guam native hit .389 with three home runs and seven RBIs in tournament play, including the walk-off double in the first round against New Mexico State. Junior center fielder Ryan Wideman, redshirt junior third baseman Carlos Vasquez, senior second baseman Austin Haller and Lizama were named to the CUSA All-Tournament Team.
WKU will open regional play against Georgia Tech on Friday, May 30. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+.
